Free audio books and stories

I recently asked around for links to free audio books and stories for children. I have sifted through them all to find the most useful:

Free Classic Audio Books - several classics read aloud, including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, Pilgrim's Progress, Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland, The Wind in the Willows, The Secret Garden, Shakespeare's Sonnets, and Heidi

Homeschool Radio Shows - a new program each week

Kiddie Records Weekly - three years' archives of weekly programs are available, they are darling stories including many classics and Bible stories which were available on children's records in the 40's and 50's

Kids' Learn Out Loud - audio books, an Aesop's Fables podcast, famous speeches, and podcasts on French, math, science, and more

Lit2Go - collection of stories and poems, with text to download and read along (searchable by reading level!), great source for Aesop's fables, fairy tales, and poetry especially

Reading Well - stories based on Landmark American history books!! plus a few fairy tales and Bible stories

Storynory - weekly story and archive of over 100 stories, inlcuding fairy tales, myths, and Bible stories

I'll have to check these out. We have been encouraging our kids to read or listen to books on tape rather than watching TV. Timely post!
